LED infant phototherapy lamp ideal for treating neonatal jaundice, which is a yellowish coloration of the skin due to high levels of bilirubin in the blood. Left untreated, severe jaundice can lead to brain damage, hearing loss and even death. Blue light irradiation (phototherapy) is a simple, fast and effective treatment for hyperbilirubinemia. It lowers bilirubin levels through a process called photo-oxidation, which adds oxygen to the bilirubin, making it easier to dissolve in water.
